An albatross is a type of seabird from the tubenose or giant petrel family. They have captured the hearts of many hardened sailors with their beauty, elegance, grace and gigantic wing span.
On the 12th of November 2011, I was lucky enough to go on a pelagic trip to see some ocean life. I saw dolphins, whales and 4 different species of albatross. But seeing those albatross made me realise, that all to soon, we could loose these magnificent birds. All 22 species of albatross are listed on the World Conservation Union's Red List as either, vulnerable, endangered or critically endangered. No albatross species have been lost to extinction yet, b
